Luke Donald Rushed To Hospital After WD, Doctors Say The Former World No.1 Was “Hardly Recognizable”

(TIS) — A scary scene unfolded just before Luke Donald was set to tee off at the RSM Classic on Thursday when he was forced to withdraw from the event citing chest pains. The 39-year-old Englishman was immediately rushed to the hospital for precautionary measures. Upon arrival, doctors said the former World No. 1 was “hardly recognizable.”

“When Mr. Donald arrived, we had to do a double take,” said Dr. Bob Campbell, head of cardiology at South East Georgia Brunswick hospital. “While he was wearing his patented Mizuno visor and RLX polo, it was difficult to determine who this man was considering he hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since 2012.”

According to Dr. Campbell, while Donald’s driving is a “mess” and he “completely lacks the ability to hit any green from outside of 200 yards,” it appears the only thing that’s keeping him alive is his short game.

Fortunately, after undergoing several hours of testing, Donald’s health will be fine. However, the state of his golf game remains to be seen.

“I’d like to personally thank the team of doctors for taking care of me … and not giving me any more crap for tumbling down the world ranking,” Donald said tipping his ~~hat~~ visor upon his discharge from the hospital. “It’s always a challenge explaining how I ever got to No.1 in the world without winning a major, but they were much more interested in my health.”

Donald is shutting it down for the year but hopes to have another mediocre season in 2018.
