REPORT: Hosung Choi To Make PGA Tour Debut At AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
- Updated: January 14, 2019
There is a golf god! Hosung Choi, a two-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour and proud owner of arguably the most relateable swing in professional golf, will make his PGA Tour debut after receiving an invitation to compete in the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, according to multiple Korean media outlets.
The legend of Hosung Choi began to grow after video of his “Fisherman’s Swing” went viral during the 2018 Korean Open.

Look at that thing … such grace! And then how about this for a fist pump:

“I never imagined this day would come,” Choi said about the invitation. “I took up golf at the age of 25, after a hard life. I’m fully aware that none of this would be possible without the love and support of my fans. I will, of course, do my best, wherever I go.”
You can’t teach talent.
Just about every professional has a textbook swing, but Hosung plays by nobody’s rules, not even his own. As long as the club is square through impact, who cares what it looks like?!
There’s even an online petition started to get Choi an invite into the Waste Management Phoenix Open … and at the time of writing this, close to 6,000 fans signed it!
The 45-year-old South Korean will be one of the oldest “rookies” to ever tee it up in a PGA Tour event. The AT&T Pebble Beach will take place February 7-10.
First Tiger’s back, now this Hosung news … 2019 is going to be LIT!
