WATCH: Adam Scott Hits Into Group In Front, Does Not Apologize
- Updated: February 16, 2020
Adam Scott may have discovered the only way to speed up play on the PGA Tour. Just bomb a drive into the group in front of you while they’re still in the middle of the fairway.
Standing on the tee of the par-5 17th hole at Riviera Country Club on Sunday, Scott held a slim lead and wanted to hit his drive ASAP. Can’t really blame him either since he was seeking his first PGA Tour win since 2016.
“How do we speed up play?”

Whether he confirmed with the marshals patrolling the hole that the group was out of the way remains to be seen, Scott launched a drive snaking it through the players, caddies, and tv crews to obvious looks of surprise.
Reminder, this is the PGA TOUR, not the Monday night slap and giggle at the local muni! The best part is that he didn’t even seem to apologize nor did he yell fore. What a power move.
Of course, if we were in that fairway and he hit up on us, he would’ve never seen that golf ball again.
Oh yeah, Scott held on to win … even with that questionable putting stroke.
