Phil’s Reaction To Finding a Fairway is Pure Gold

The new season doesn’t begin until Phil Mickelson finds a fairway. As usual, Lefty put on a show for the fans in between bottles of fine red wine at the Safeway Open at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa finishing T3 in the season opener, his best finish in 15 months This moment, in particular, was pure FIGJAM at it’s finest.
Having hit only two fairways through 15 holes on Sunday, Mickelson did what he does best and pulled driver from the bag on the par-5 16th hole with no reservation..but it was the reaction afterward that was pure gold:

Drink it in, Lefty’s jokes always go down smooth.
As for the guy who actually won, Brendan Steele successfully defended his title in wine country holding off big Tony Finau down the stretch….proving you can never have too many wine barrels.
