PHOTO: Tony Finau’s Gross Dislocated Ankle That He Played On At The Masters Will Haunt Your Dreams
- Updated: April 9, 2018
Augusta National is one of golf’s toughest tests, but it’s infinitely tougher when you are playing on a dislocated ankle (at least we think it would be!)
If you recall, Tony Finau injured his ankle in gruesome fashion celebrating a hole-in-one during Wednesday’s par-3 contest.
After an X-Ray and an MRI revealed no structural damage, not only did he tee it up on Thursday, he finished T10 on Sunday. TENTH!
On Monday Finau revealed what his ankle looked like and spoiler alert, it’s disgusting:
This is what @TonyFinauGolf is managing five days post-injury.
And for the record: instinctively firing that bone right back into position, finishing the Par 3, then playing lights out @TheMasters, is straight badass material. pic.twitter.com/6ech5mQJaJ— Marty Smith (@MartySmithESPN) April 9, 2018
As a consolation prize, Finau earned a trip back next year since he placed in the top-10. Totally worth it! Safe to assume he’ll try to be a little more careful next year.
What a week ???? Top 10 in my @TheMasters debut! It was an eventful week!
