WATCH: Rahm Rips Course Setup At American Express

Jon Rahm is not thrilled with this week’s course setup on the PGA Tour at the American Express. If we’re being honest, he’s not wrong.
The current world no.1, who is known for his fiery Seve-like Spanish temper, was caught on film by a spectator on Saturday as he walked by ripping apart the PGA West Stadium course in La Quinta, CA.
Piece of shit fucking setup. Putting contest week…
The best part of the whole video might’ve been someone asking the person filming “if you got that?!”

Yes. Rahm is 100% correct…for the best players in the world, this is one of the easiest weeks all year. Just look at the data.
However, it almost ALWAYS comes down to a putting contest on the PGA Tour (excluding majors) because the courses are relatively easy AND everyone on tour is good!
You’d probably be pissed off too if this was happening to you on the greens:

The American Express is a PRO-AM played on 3 different courses: PGA West’s Stadium Course and Nicklaus Tournament Course, as well as La Quinta Country Club.
This tournament isn’t run by the USGA. It’s a PGA TOUR event! They are trying to get these hacks in before dark!
Rahm knew what he was getting into, but it’s still hilarious the BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD was complaining about something so obvious all because he wasn’t in the lead!
Wonder if he’ll get fined for this? Although we probably wouldn’t hear about it.
Better yet, maybe we should mic Rahm up for every round!
Rahm does have a point though…
Course setups on the PGA Tour are questionable at best for players of their caliber.
Would the PGA Tour be infinitely more interesting if they played tougher setups week in and week out? Absolutely.
Unfortunately, it seems like the Tour is still more concerned about money living under par (whatever that means.)
