WATCH: Tour Pro Attempts To Get Creative At Sony Open, Fails Miserably

Sometimes you find yourself in a less than ideal lie and are forced to get creative with it. Tour pro James Hahn hilariously demonstrated this concept in less than ideal fashion during a practice round while preparing for this week’s Sony Open.

With his ball sitting just outside the bunker in the rough, the two-time PGA Tour winner opted to utilize a new technique by taking a running start and leaping at the ball – which we assume was to get a steeper angle of attack – however, it did not go as planned:

Some would call this a failed trick shot … we like to call it thinking outside the box. While the prudent play would be to take a stance in the bunker and choke down to the steel, you have to admire his ability to assess all of his options. That’s why he’s a pro.
