Vijay Singh’s Putting Set-Up Will Make You Want To Puke

Vijay Singh has been a ball striking machine throughout his Hall of Fame career, but it’s his putting that’s always been a bit suspect on the greens.
The 57-year-old as time Fijian was spotted at the Honda Classic this week using a putting stroke that’s unconventional, to say the least.

While it’s incredible he’s playing tour events at age 57 and defending the title he won here back in 1999, this putting situation is indefensible!
Yes, that’s Vijay using a long putter, left-hand low split grip with his glove on. You can’t make this up. Will’s right. Slap a TV-MA tag on it.
It’s like watching a car wreck and you can’t look away. In case you taste vomit in your mouth, don’t worry. We did too when we first saw this monstrosity.
This is a man who stared down Tiger in his prime.
And he faired pretty well winning 34 PGA Tour events, including 9 in one year (2004)… and 3 majors (1998, 2004 PGA Championship; 2000 Masters). He was world no.1 for 32 weeks, you know, until Tiger took over the top spot for a while – a LONG while.
Vijay was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame back in 2006 and still resorted to chipping cross-handed with a 10 finger grip later in his career. Now, we are forced to watch this! But hey, whatever works to get the ball in the hole in the least number of strokes.
More power to Vijay.
