WATCH: 13-Year-Old Kid Beats The Pros Like A Boss
- Updated: January 18, 2018
Think you can get it closer to the hole than the best players in the world? If you hit it like me, then the answer is no. However, 13-year-old Oscar Murphy is not like us.
During the first round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, the fearless teenager (who plays to a SIX handicap) had a chance to step inside the ropes and take a crack on the par-3 15th hole against the likes of current world no.1 Dustin Johnson, 4-time major winner Rory McIlroy, and defending champion Tommy Fleetwood.
Playing 177-yards, Murphy opted to go with 3-wood and hit a high, soft fade into the green stopping around 20ft. from the hole … which beat out DJ AND Fleetwood!
“An unbelievable shot,” Fleetwood said afterward, “and me and Rory both said, ‘We don’t have that in our locker.’”
But the best part may have been his interview afterward … you gotta see this action:
“I played it a bit off the front foot, hit a 3-wood and it was perfect.” ????
