Does Bryson DeChambeau Shave His Arms To Gain More Distance?
- Updated: March 15, 2021
Breaking news: Bryson DeChambeau appears to shave his arms. What won’t this guy try to gain a few extra yards?
This post by the always funny Instagram account, @golfnjokes, shows a bushy armed Bryson on the left and his arm as smooth as silk on the right.
How do we know that’s Bryson on the right? Well, the absurdly huge red, white and blue putter grip gave it away. Not to mention it’s the same sponsor on his sleeve.
The jury is out on what apparatus he is using to shave, but by the looks of it, it is smoother than a baby’s bottom. Could be the classic straight blade with shaving cream or it could be a set of clippers.
One things for sure, there’s a good chance he thanks his razor sponsor next time he wins.
Does it make him more aerodynamic?
Swimmers shave their bodies to achieve minimal resistance. Maybe Bryson is trying to apply the same principle to golf. With less hair on your arms, the less air resistance you will encounter during the golf swing which ideally will translate into faster swing speed and thus faster ball speed.
Bryson is always pushing the envelope to attain optimal distance. It’s only a matter of time until other players realize he may or may not be onto something.
