HISTORY: This Is The Letter Tiger Woods Received After The 1995 Masters

Here’s a cool piece of Masters history we stumbled across on the internet.

This is the letter written by former Augusta National Golf Club chairman Jack Stephens in 1995 congratulating a 19-year-old Tiger Woods on his low amateur honors that year. He finished T41 and shot rounds of 72, 72, 77, 72 for a total of 293 (+5).

Two years later, Tiger blew the roof off of Augusta National winning the Masters by a record 12 shots.

According to CBSsports, the letter was on display at the Tiger Woods Center at Nike World Headquarters in Oregon.

Tiger returns to Augusta National this week looking for his 5th green jacket, and first major since 2008.
