Bryson and Caddie Split…Brooksy Declares Today is “Caddie Appreciation Day”

Bryson DeChambeau and his caddie, Tim Tucker, have officially parted ways.

The news broke on Thursday morning of the Rocket Mortgage Classic right before Bryson was set to tee off and defend his title in Detroit this week.

Filling in to caddie for Bryson was Cobra Golf’s Ben Schomin, who we assume wasn’t exactly expecting to caddie today.

Tucker was on DeChambeau’s bag for all 8 of his PGA Tour victories, including the 2020 U.S. Open.

According to Bryson’s agent, the relationship “ran it’s course” and the two mutually agreed to part ways.

Yeah…right.

While the details have yet to emerge (and we pray to god there are details), this is what we know: it was “mutual.”

No caddie shows up for practice rounds and a pro-am only to say “no thanks, I’m good” and catch the next flight home.

Honestly, we can’t believe Tucker made it this long considering Bryson’s laundry list of documented antics including but not limited to making his caddie spritz golf balls with water to simulate dew or staying at the driving range into the wee hours of the morning under the lights while being on the verge of a mental breakdown.

The dude probably has way better things to do than trying to calculate air density and then figure out how it relates to wind velocity. Fuck that.

Good for Tim Tucker. You deserve at least a Nobel prize and a presidential medal of freedom for putting up with that shit.

Brooksy from the top rope

No more than an hour after the news broke, Brooks Koepka, who literally said he has “zero respect” for people like Bryson, swooped in on social media to praise his caddie, Rickie Elliott. Probably not a coincidence.

He even claimed July 1, 2021 “Caddie Appreciation Day” because why not. The guy is relentless!

When your opponent is hurt, you hit him harder where it hurts.

HAHAHA. This rivalry is looking like it’s not going anywhere.
