Pro tip: don’t try to smuggle cocaine across the U.S. border in your golf clubs.
On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol intercepted a set of golf clubs originally sent from Columbia destined for New York with approximately $30,000 worth of cocaine stashed away in the shafts of the clubs.

Agents seized the golf clubs after – wait for it – drilling a hole in one – of the shafts. They discovered just over a pound of cocaine. No confirmation if it was truly “fine Columbian,” but that’s neither here nor there.
Images of the golf clubs showed cavity back irons and an apparently older-model small-headed driver type club wrapped in clear shipping material.
What is this amateur hour? If you’re going to smuggle cocaine at least use a 460CC head!
According to a report in the Sun-Sentinel, “Our CBP officers are highly skilled in detecting all types of concealment methods to intercept harmful drugs and to keep them from impacting our communities,” said Christopher Maston, U.S. Customs and Border Protections port director of field operations, at Miami International Airport.
