Hank Haney Files Lawsuit Against PGA Tour, Continues To Be A Loser
- Updated: December 18, 2019
Hank Haney has officially filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against the PGA Tour on Wednesday after being fired from his radio show claiming the Tour “improperly intimidated, enticed and threatened Sirius XM Radio.”
Haney was fired from Sirius XM Radio after his U.S. Women’s Open comments in May which included this blatantly racist answer when asked to predict a winner:
“I’m gonna predict a Korean (will win) … I couldn’t name you six players on the LPGA tour. Maybe I could. Well … I’d go with ‘Lee,’ if I didn’t have to name a first name. I’d get a bunch of them right,”
While Haney apologized for his comments, he was initially suspended by Sirius XM Radio, then he was formally fired.
Lawsuit filed today in So. District of Florida by Vijay Singh attorney Peter Ginsberg alleges @PGATour “orchestrated” @HankHaney‘s firing from @SiriusXMPGATOUR, forced its Superstores to cancel Big Miss orders, influenced canceling of Haney Project, etc. More details to come. pic.twitter.com/Xgu8onk4Sx

The long-time teaching professional, who sells his own line of training aids solely for profit claims the firing “cost advertising revenues that would have amounted to millions of dollars over the life of the agreement.”
According to Golf Channel, the lawsuit also claims that Haney was terminated because the Tour wanted to “settle an old score relating to professional golfer Tiger Woods.”
The lawsuit states the Tour had “long attempted to disrupt and interfere in Haney’s business” following the release of his book, “The Big Miss,” in 2012 that chronicled his years as Woods’ swing coach.
The PGA Tour did not comment on the ongoing litigation.
The take.
Filing a lawsuit a week before Christmas is not surprising in the least for Haney. The man doesn’t have a soul. He was Tiger’s swing coach from 2004-2010, then trashed him after they split in a book simply to make a buck.
Remember seeing his product line of training aids exclusively sold at Golfsmith? You probably don’t because Golfsmith went bankrupt in 2016.
Listen, we get exploiting your biggest student for your own financial gain is a natural thing to do if you have no morals or ethics. But trying to blame the PGA Tour for your own mistakes seems … well, it seems exactly like something Hank Haney would also do.
Based on what we can see, Haney got fired for saying insensitive, racist comments live on air. Suck it up. Deal with it. Move on. Please don’t try to stay relevant by getting lawyers involved. It just makes you look desperate. Merry Christmas, you filthy animal.
