Tiger Wears Sunday Red In Latest Swing Video, Continues To Toy With My Emotions

UPDATE: According to ESPN, Tiger has been officially cleared by doctors to resume full golf activity with no restrictions:
Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, said Monday that the 14-time major champion met with the doctor who performed the surgery on April 19 for a check-up late last week.
“He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed,” Steinberg said. “He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way.”
Tiger’s back! Wait….is he for real? Or is this some sick joke? Because if it is, it ain’t funny! Big Cat posted a few swing videos in recent weeks conveniently after he acknowledged that he may never return to the professional game again. WTF, man. Sunday red? Club twirls? What a tease!

But really the best part about them – besides seeing TW standing upright – are the reactions from the golf world, especially on Twitter. People, mostly golf nerds, absolutely lose their minds when he casually updates the public with 11-second clips of a mediocre golf swing in the early stages of recovery.
Why? Because the guy moves the needle like nobody else…and people like myself refuse to give up on that faint glimmer of hope that he can one day win another major make it through 18 tournament holes without wincing in pain.
Maybe he does it for the RTs … or maybe he does it for the sponsors that invested in the 14-time major winner even after all of his off the course drama, which seems to be more likely the case. No way does he give a Claret Jug about what you or I or Brandel Chamblee think about his newest swing. The man has enough critics, with the biggest one being himself.
As for me, I’m taking this latest “progress” with a grain of salt and I’d advise you to do the same. We’ve seen this dog and pony show before and the last one ended up on a police dash cam in embarrassing fashion…including a mug shot for the ages.
Until he pegs it again at a pro event – and signs his scorecard – tell Steiny I’m not buying the hype. In fact, I’d rather not see another swing until then (ok…that’s a lie.)
As much as I want to believe, Tiger’s broken my heart too many times before. Plus, he literally owes us nothing. The least he can do is have some decency and stop toying with my emotions.
