Drink plenty of coffee to stay awake throughout the Nantz/Faldo banter and pray for no playoff on Sunday as Colt Knost may not be able to handle another one.

Field

With this being the last event before The Open, it typically has trouble drawing the big names. This year is no exception, but there are a few notables in the field.

We’ve got Daniel Berger, Brian Harman, Patton Kizzire, and Sunjae Im. Russell Henley will be looking for a good showing after solid performances in his last two starts.

Dylan Frittelli will be defending his 2019 championship title.

And Zach Johnson is pretty much a staple in this event. At this point, it seems he should be allowed to ride his own John Deere around the premises as he pleases.

Picks

Winner – Steve Stricker

The three-time past champion of the event is skipping the U.S. Senior Open to be here, so you know he’s motivated.

The Ryder Cup captain is coming off a six-shot blowout victory at the Senior Players and looks to continue his dominance onto the younger field.

Contender – Russell Henley

Russ has found some good form of late and will look to continue it at an event he finished runner up in the last time it was played in 2019.

He had a decent start to the season with a T3 at the Honda and a T9 at Harbour Town and has since shown more signs of life with solid showings at the US Open and Travelers.

However, his last two starts involved him fading away on Sunday. He’s going to need to keep the pedal down for all four rounds if he wants to stay in contention this week.

DFL – J.B. Holmes

In his last 6 events, he has 3 MCs, a WD, a T50, and a T36. He’s having a harder time finishing tournaments than he does to play a golf shot in under 5 minutes.

He currently sits at 205 in the Fed Ex Cup rankings, leaving him out of the playoff picture.

He will need to start putting it together if he wants to finish out the season strong, but for the sake of sub 6-hour rounds, we hope he doesn’t.
