A Couple Things Team USA Can Blame For Losing The Ryder Cup
- Updated: September 30, 2018
One of the best parts of losing is blaming anybody or anything but yourself for the loss. It obviously wasn’t your fault. No way it could be.
You pulled your weight with your 0-something record and supported your teammates as they got their asses kicked too.
Here are a couple pretty obvious things the US can blame their 2018 Ryder Cup loss on:
Paulina. Paulina. Paulina.
The week before the Ryder Cup, the world discovered Paulina took down all Instagram posts that DJ was in. Seriously. She had a bunch of them on there.
While nobody is actually going to Paulina’s feed to look at DJ, it was noticeable. She did, however, keep the one with Tiger … causing immediate speculation.
Turns out she was in Paris soaking it all in and DJ was her personal photographer. Look at the happy couple!

DJ went 1-4 overall and well, he didn’t look like the current world no.1 at all. He switched putters after 2 days, used 2 different putting grips, and probably lost a dozen balls in the water over the 3 days.
In fact, the entire team struggled.
Are they back together? Are they not? Who really cares!
Thanks, Paulina.
Was Tiger’s win last week worth it?
Sure Tiger won the week before, but was it really worth it? So what he’s won 80 times on the PGA Tour … he’s only won 1 Ryder Cup back in 1999!
Yes, the Tour Championship was one of the greatest comebacks in all of sport and yes it made all of us watching shed a tear, but going 0-4 in Paris? The man is now 9-19-1 in team matches! Plus he lost for the second time in singles.
Before the competition, Tiger said that he’d put himself on golf’s Mt. Rushmore. That obviously doesn’t include the Ryder Cup.
He was gassed. At one point on Friday, it looked like he winced in pain, which made our hearts skip a beat. His first fist pump came on Sunday afternoon on the 9th hole. He barely could keep his eyes open in the presser.
Got to wonder if Captain Furyk considered this when picking the 42-year-old with a brand new back played 7 out of 9 weeks leading into a glorified exhibition event.
